Final conference of the Pilot project – 2 weeks to go!


After 2 years intense work, we are pleased to inform you that the Final conference of the Pilot project will be organised in the City Hall of Brussels on the 14th of October.

 

The conference is hosted by the City of Brussels and on initiative of Mr Mohamed Ouriaghli (Deputy Mayor in charge of equal opportunities) and organised in collaboration with the project partners; CEMR, ICF International and the Basque University.

 

So far, around 90 representatives from local and regional authorities from 18 European countries have signed up to participate in the conference. In addition, around 40 representatives from National association of local and regional authorities, representatives from EU institutions, NGOs and International organisations based in Brussels.

 

However, WE STILL HAVE SOME PLACES LEFT, so if you are Brussels-based and interested to participate we invite you to send us a request for participation by registering on the following link. Please note that we have closed the registrations for participants from outside Belgium.

 

The conference will take place during the whole day from 09h00-16h00, include interactive workshops and offer opportunities to exchange with representatives from EU Institutions, elected representatives and staff working at local and regional level. The focus of our discussions will be on progress to date on equality of women and men and further actions that can be taken at local, regional, national and European level, using the Charter and its instruments.

Workshop 1 – Employment (focus of the discussion will be how to increase the rate of employment, especially among women and issues related to work-life balance)

 

Workshop 2 – Decision-making (focus on the discussion will be how to promote women in local and regional decision-making but also how to involve women’s associations and women in general in public consultations and advisory bodies at local and regional level)

 

Workshop 3 – Service Delivery with focus on Gender Based Violence (focus of the discussion will be how to prevent and combat violence against women but also how to provide support to victims)
