Commission of the Status of Women/Beijing+20 (2015)

The 59^th session of the Commission of the Status of Women will take place at the UN Headquarters in New York from 9 to 20 March 2015.

The conference will bring together representatives from Member States, UN organisations, NGOs from all over the world.

The main focus of the session will be on the Bejing Declaration and Platform for Action, including current challenges that affect its implementation and the achievement of gender equality and the empowerment of women.

The Commission will undertake a review of progress made in the implementation of the Beijing Declaration and Platform for Action, 20 years after its adoption at the Fourth World Conference on Women in 1995.

A delegation of local and regional representatives will attend these meetings representing UCLG (United Cities and Local Governments) the world organisation of CEMR.
