3rd national conference on the implementation of the European Charter for Equality of Women and Men in Local Life, Suresnes 22 September


The French Association of the Council of European Municipalities and Regions (AFCCRE), the CEMR member association that promotes and monitors the European Charter for Equality in France, is organising the 3rd national conference on the Charter’s implementation the 22nd September in Suresnes. This year also marks the 10-year anniversary of the Charter, which now counts over 250 signatories in France and more than 1,500 in Europe.

 

The conference will focus specifically on the European dimension of policies in the field of equality. In addition, practical workshops will aim to link concrete experiences with thematic areas in which local authorities can take action to promote equality between women and men. Local initiatives in the field of women’s employment, awareness raising about equality with youth and actions to facilitate migrant women’s access to their rights will be discussed. AFCCRE has invited speakers from diverse backgrounds: institutions and local authorities, associations, academia…
